I stand aghast at my own blaspheming, but the more I listen to Mesarthim, the less I ache for a new Arcturus album. This (i.e. this and all the other records by Mesarthim) is so immeasurably good and by far the most fascinating thing I've discovered in BM for years.

Space metal or metal is space? How about both! Atmospheric black metal at its core but with an excellent addition of synthesizer effects and keyboards to give a cosmic melody that is present throughout the album. Some shorter songs on this album compared to previous that make it a bit more approachable. 7/10
